[JURIST] Jonathan ‘Jack’ Idema [BBC profile; JURIST news archive], an American civilian convicted of illegal imprisonment and torture as a rogue vigilante in Afghanistan in 2004, filed a lawsuit against the Associated Press [media website] Thursday, alleging that AP defamed, libeled, and slandered him. He also alleged that AP distributed photographs and video provided by Idema or his lawyers without obtaining publishing rights from Idema’s agent. AP associate general counsel Dave Tomlin characterized the suit as “nonsense.”

That same Afghan court that “convicted him” later completely exonerated him. Yet the MSM consistently lies as pretending to speak the truth that “Idema was convicted of running a private prison” –and never mentions that he was exonerated. THAT is the purpose of the law suit. They have lied-by-omission for years concerning him and those with him.

The money is nice. But the money is not the point. The point is to make the MSM genuinely hurt where it hurts, even though it is where it hurts least for wordmongers: cash money. The point is also to make it hurt where it hurts most: by making them more honest by forcing them to literally change their speech through legal action. The MSM has been lying for decades specifically on the premise that it reflects a “general principle” that speech ought to be totally free from any constraints –even honesty — and getting away with it.

The guy who robs you and gets away with it will not only rob others by already has many times. The MSM has to be bought to heel and they know it –and loath it.

Remember all the “discussion groups” of “Did “the media” ( as always seeking to distance themselves from themselves as if discussing a third party they were “objectively reporting on” was a story itself..) go too far?” only to all have the same “conclusion” of “No. We’re okay” or “Yeah we did. But that doesn’t change the first amendment”?

That’s why the MSM can’t police themselves. They labor under a lie and seek to passionately expound that lie as truth merely because it is their best honesty. The whole of the Liberalism of the MSM (and a great deal of the blogshere and “conservative radio”..) is the lie of free will and that those who can be idealized in the story as possessing “less” free will are the automatic “moral” and those who can be idealized to possess “more” free will can be automatically portrayed as immoral aggressors who must have violated an implied divine code of morality as “stealing free will from the poor” in order that they would “have more free will.”

But Jack doesn’t understand that yet. He is deceived by the lie of free will as well. His lawsuit is just –within the lie of free will AND in truth –and the whole of the US justice system is at present a slave to that lie of free will. But Jack’s appeal will be confined to the lie of free will and that the AP violated the very “principles” of the supposed foundation of civilization –that by lying they have smeared him and by the definition of free will a smear is nothing less or more than a thwarting of the opportunity later to use the free will in an unrestrained arena and manner. The AP is deceived they have free will as the very basis for their supposed “freedom of the press”. The judicial system is deceived it is an arbitor and “neutral facilitator” of who gets how much free will at all, as well as where, when and under what circusmstance. So they are all locked in a cage fight that no matter who wins they all lose as the very contest seems to re-validate the lie of free will in the eyes of winner and loser because they all have the same speech before, during and after the event: non-creating speech .. in which the lie of free will makes perfect sense to all those deceived it is the only speech in total reality.

In the lie of free will Jack is due a LOT as he has genuinely suffered from it even as he was deceived by it. But it can’t give him what he really needs no matter how much it “changes” its speech or pays him cash money as a supposed measure to counterbalance “how much” ‘free’ will it took from him in the past or prevented him from ‘obtaining’ and ‘demonstrating’ in the future.

But in a system where all the players are deceived free will is a divinely appointed reality, no matter if that divinity be God in Jesus Christ, “generic religion’, or “evolutionary processes” and that it is the “best honesty of God”, ..there you are.

Ecc 4:1-3 And I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors was power, and they had no comforter. Then I praised the dead who are already dead more than the living who are yet alive; and more fortunate than both is he who hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
